Senior Project Manager


Job Details

Reporting to the Vice President, Project Delivery, the Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and executing a large-scale utilities infrastructure project out of Nebraska.


As the senior project lead, this role requires the incumbent to actively manage and collaborate with the executive leadership team, shared services, field operations and external stakeholders including client and regulators.


Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Lead the execution of Project Management processes, means and methods for the project; with a focus on standardizing and improving operational processes, safety management, and financial management.
  • Contribute and develop the strategic plan for the project and division to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Work alongside the Construction Management Office (CMO) and Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure key functional initiatives are met, including timeline adherence, budget control and quality management.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to develop and refine strategies for sourcing and winning major projects, while ensuring client relationships and new opportunities are aligned with organizational and departmental strategic initiatives.
  • Establish functional best practices throughout the organization. Develop and implement relevant Project Delivery, PMO, and CMO controls to ensure compliance with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Proactively manage and lead the project management team to ensure goals and requirements of the contract are met.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Shared Services to cultivate a culture of excellence.


Key Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in a senior project management or risk management capacity, within the construction industry.
  • Proven and progressive full-cycle project management experience in major construction projects.
  • Post-Secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously to completion.
  • Exceptional knowledge of project management methodologies, cost analysis and bidding strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen, emphasizing accountability and effective budget management.
  • Excellent communicator with the demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Travel to project site is required, up to 70% of the time.
