Position Summary:
We are in search of a Marketing Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to advance scientific discovery. In this role, Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the marketing activities and initiatives of DLS.This position, as a member of the global marketing team, will service a vital role in the coordination and administration of marketing pursuits

A Day in the Life of a Marketing Coordinator at Discovery Life Sciences:
Track and monitor contract processes and oversee deadlines
Coordinate administrative aspects of production such as managing inventory, coordinating shipping, invoicing of tradeshow materials
Budget and place orders for new marketing materials
Manage print material graphic design

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
A Bachelor's degree in marketing/ public relations or equivalent experience (2+ years) preferred
Experience in project management platforms (Basecamp, Monday.com, Asana)
Ability to effectively communicate directly with potential vendors via both email and phone
History managing budgets, orders, and invoices
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Proven knowledge or experience of graphic design software (Canva, Adobe, etc.) preferred
Team-first attitude and passion to achieve marketing and company-wide goals
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Problem solving skills
Track record of performing responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and efficiency

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of special events management, including scope, estimating costs, budgeting, registration of attendees, presentation materials, scheduling, and communications associated with each event.
Track and monitor contract processes and oversee deadlines for supporting activities such as abstracts, posters, and talks.
Coordinate administrative aspects of production such as managing inventory, coordinating shipping and receiving of all logistics, and invoicing of tradeshow materials.
Budget and place orders for new marketing materials and event supplies inventory.
Liaise with other parties to support communication through entire event planning process, such as vendor correspondence, scheduling travel, booking hotels, confirming event details, coordinating with attendees, etc.
Manage print material graphic design updates with 3rd party graphic design agency and maintain current versions for all shared access libraries.
Prepare event materials such as programs, schedules, collaterals, registrations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

This is an office-based, onsite position.

Location and work hours:
This position is onsite and our Huntsville location.
This position is part time (32 hours a week)
Less than 5% domestic or international travel required for mandatory site meetings and trainings
