We are hiring! Clinical Solutions Pharmacy is looking for ambitious, impactful, goal-oriented professionals to join our Pharmacy Technician Team! A candidate must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to be considered for the position.

Clinical Solutions Pharmacy is the only 100% female owned and founded closed-door pharmacy in the United States serving the correctional population. Clinical Solutions ships out 35,000 plus prescriptions a day to over 400 correctional facilities in 26 states from our Franklin corporate office. Our Clinical Solutions Pharmacy in Nashville ships out 2,000-3,500 prescriptions a day to all Tennessee State Department of Correction Facilities.

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm.

Position: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Competitive Pay: The starting hourly rate is $19. If you have previous Pharmacy Technician CPhT experience, your experience is taken into consideration and your hourly rate would be greater than $19.

Department: Order Entry. The Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) will also be cross trained and flexible to work in all fulfillment departments, including Prepack, Specials, Fridge, and Shipping.

Location: The Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) position is located at the Tennessee Department of Corrections Pharmacy, 7575 Cockrill Bend Blvd, Nashville, TN. The Tennessee Department of Corrections Pharmacy is located on the same campus as the DeBerry Special Needs Tennessee Prison Facility, but the pharmacy is in a separate building outside of the prison.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PTCB National Certification.
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Tennessee.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate typing and keyboarding skills.
  • Dependable in attendance and job performance.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English.
  • 1+ years' experience data entry in high volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and is detail oriented.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information.
  • Ability to maintain composure on phone when handling customer calls.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize to maintain productivity.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology.
  • Possess the ability and initiative to plan for and complete daily activities with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment criminal background and drug screening process.

Duties Include:
  • Courteously assists all internal and external customers.
  • Process prescription orders based on the priority assigned.
  • Enters new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
  • Comply with all state and federal guidelines regarding medication labeling.
  • Calculates and verifies the correct dosage based on the prescription.
  • Assist with pharmacy workflow fulfillment duties to meet production needs.
  • Consult with dispensing pharmacist regarding prescription order clarification, non-stock items, order entry problems or concerns.
  • Complete all data fields according to pharmacy procedures including use of approved abbreviations.
  • Be flexible to work in any area of the pharmacy as assigned by the Pharmacist in Charge.
  • Be cross trained in all fulfillment departments, including Order Entry, Specials, Fridge, and Shipping.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by Manager.

  • Able to reach, carry, finger, grasp and feel objects related to duties.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, stir, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • The employee is required to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift/move objects.
