Supply Chain
Performs supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. Focuses resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis. Promotes alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization. Procurement n egotiates favorable terms for non sourced items, ensures negotiated volume discounts with suppliers, and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for procurement of good and services. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy, and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds. Improves procurement process and delivers to established performance KPI's. On boards new suppliers to the business they support
Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, organizes and monitors purchasing activity for materials, supplies, equipment and services
Supports procurement contract activities for materials/services to ensure price, quality and service goals are meet
Qualifies suppliers, evaluates bids, and recommends alternate suppliers to negotiating team to enhance quality and/or cost savings
Provides support for cost reduction program, year-end reconciliation, purchase price variance and purchase order execution
May serve as liaison to vendors/suppliers and organize meetings to ensure continuity of quality, best price and service
Maintains standard operation procedures (SOPs) and purchasing/competitive quote data for updating standard costs
Monitors and enforces compliance to the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business, related field or equivalent experience
1-4 years' experience in procurement/purchasing; 2 years' related experience preferred
