Job Title: Aerospace Manufacturing Operations Manager

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations within the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace manufacturing processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of optimizing production efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes, improve operational efficiency, and meet production targets in line with organizational goals.

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, including supervisors, engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production, including scheduling, resource allocation, workflow management, and inventory control, to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality aerospace components and assemblies.

Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures and compliance standards to ensure that all products meet or exceed industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality objectives.=

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste elimination through the application of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and suppliers to optimize the supply chain, minimize lead times, mitigate risks, and ensure the availability of materials and components to support production schedules.

Health and Safety: Champion a culture of safety awareness and compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing best practices to minimize workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment.

Performance Metrics: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to monitor, evaluate, and report on manufacturing performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement: Lead and support initiatives for continuous improvement, innovation, and technology adoption to enhance productivity, quality, and competitiveness in the aerospace manufacturing industry.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers regarding manufacturing operations, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in aerospace manufacturing operations, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, composites, and CNC programming.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma principles, and process improvement tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth understanding of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards applicable to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning software, and other manufacturing technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and root cause analysis.
  • Certifications such as Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are a plus.
