**Buyer - Aiken, SC**
**Location:** Aiken, SC, US, 29801 **Duties and Responsibilities**
* Identify and qualify new low-cost suppliers for raw materials.
* Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
* Prioritizes for specific customer orders.
* Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
* Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from engineering departments.
* Compiles and prepares production reports as the need arises.
* Reviews and releases manufacturing production orders to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
**Skills and Experience**
* Bachelors Degree
* 3-5 years' of purchasing and/or experience in a manufacturing environment
* Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
* Must have experience leading supplier relationships and negotiations
* Strong experience working with MRP systems; SAP highly preferred
