K Machine Industrial Services is a specialized machining and millwright services company focused on the repair of heavy industrial rotating equipment. We have an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has desire to become a part of a fast-paced growing diversified organization

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

• Ability to disassemble, inspect and assemble Steam Turbine Valves with limited to no supervision, understanding of terminology and function of various kind of steam turbine valves.
• Use proper rigging procedures and equipment to perform disassembly, inspect, assemble valves safely manner.
• Identify valve components; damage, wear, broken etc. Mark, handle, clean and properly store and or stage parts.
• Climbing on ladders and valve disassembly tables frequently; ability to lift minimum of 40lbs, able to work in heat or cold environment.
• Use of precision measuring instruments and equipment i.e., vernier calipers, inside, outside and depth micrometers, dial indicators, periphery tape measures etc. to inspect valve associated components.
• Use Oxy-Acetylene torches frequently; use and properly operate basic hand tools, hand grinders, band saw, drill press, hydraulic, pneumatic tooling etc.
• Ability to read mechanical prints, data sheets, clearance diagrams.
• Ability to inspect valve components and record as found and as left data on data sheet provided.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goal; contribute to building a positive team spirit; communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels. Always maintain the highest level of honesty and integrity.
• Must be willing to work extended hours during our peak season (i.e., Spring/Fall). This may require both days and night shifts.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Highschool diploma/GED/Apprenticeship classes or trade school.
• Minimum 3 years' experience; in the field or in the repair shop with steam turbine valves and associated components. OEM experience is preferred but not required.
• Understand and apply OEM valve repair techniques. Good mechanical aptitude.
