Long-term Substitute for Middle School Spanish

Position Purpose: The Bolles School is seeking a passionate and skilled Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher to provide high-quality language instruction to our Middle School students. This role is ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about fostering a love for languages and cultures in a supportive and rigorous academic environment.
Essential Functions:
- Implement and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the school's Spanish curriculum.
- Provide instruction in Spanish to Middle School students, ensuring active learning experiences.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instruction to meet the group and individual needs.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff regarding student progress and curriculum.
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
- Attend faculty and department meetings as required.
QualificationsQualifications/Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university; advanced degree preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish
- Previous teaching experience; preferably in a middle school environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and in Spanish
- Demonstrated leadership and classroom management skills
- Demonstrated ability to create an active learning environment in the classroom
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology in the classroom
Physical Requirements:- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
