Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist installation and other teams with customer activation of fiber-optic telecommunication in subscriber homes (e.g., pulling low-voltage wire); including single family, condo and apartments in various locations.
  2. Install and service full video services, including analog, digital, and HD TV.
  3. Install, service, and disconnect telephone and internet customers; punch down telephone lines.
  4. Maintain a safe work environment by following safe practices and adhering to safety policies, which includes practicing safe driving techniques.
  5. Install all types of CAT5/CAT6 drop wire and install connectors on CAT5/CAT6 drop wire.
  6. Trouble shoot video, telephone and internet problems from any telecommunications demark to customer premise equipment.
  7. Troubleshoot IP issues from any telecommunications demark to customer premise equipment.
  8. Successfully install all ancillary equipment provided to subscribers.
  9. Test and tone all wires from equipment room to outlet.
  10. Install RF In-Building cellular systems at various sites, perform equipment and system repair, maintenance and testing.
  11. Identify and acquire parts for replacement and maintenance and Wire, connect, test and maintain new service or systems.
  12. Install conduit/pathways in the ROW from source to site by trenching, excavating, hand digging etc.
  13. Use RF test equipment such as a PIM unit, Line Sweep Tester or Light Meter to verify full functionality of installed components.
  14. Utilize construction documents to plan and complete site builds.
  15. Coordinate utility locates and implementation of traffic control plans.
  16. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, RF radios, omni directional antennas.
  17. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoidunsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
  18. Other duties as required or assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree in Internet Technologies is preferred
  • At least 3 years' experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet
  • Proven Fiber Optic Cabling experience
  • Proficiency using small hand tools and larger power tools
  • Must have active and clean, non-restrictive, state issued driver's license in State where hired.
  • Must be comfortable working on a ladder and all heights
  • Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays and participate with on-call rotation as needed
  • Work on an on-call schedule rotation.

The proposed salary range for this position is from $23.50/Hr to $29.00/Hr.
