Green Dot Public Schools is a non-profit organization with a mission to help transform the landscape of public education so all students graduate prepared for college, leadership and life. Green Dot operates 5 public charter schools in Memphis, Tennessee. All of our schools are purposefully located in highest-need communities, are publicly funded and free to attend. We currently employ more than 200 dedicated, mission-driven employees to serve more than 2,300 students. Our academic model is designed to create high-performing learning environments that meet student needs. We take the time to learn each student s needs, and work with parents, teachers and counselors to help all students succeed.

In June 2024, Green Dot Tennessee will bring many resources in-house. This change is a pivotal moment for Green Dot Tennessee to build new capabilities designed to empower and support our schools here in Memphis.

OPPORTUNITY

The School Psychologist will provide psychological services to middle and high school students. The School Psychologist will also support the school by consulting with the Student Support Teams (SST) and providing support with the intervention process. The Psychologist may also provide group and/or individual counseling for both general education and special education students for a variety of student needs. Additionally, the school psychologist will collaborate with school staff including the school counselors, and social workers to provide crisis intervention. This is a year-round (12 month) role with summer planning, data review, and professional development creation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete Psycho-educational assessments, including but not limited to Initial Evaluation, Triennial Evaluation, Manifest Determination, Functional Analysis, Social-Emotional evaluation, and others as needed
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support students' academic and personal growth.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to address students' individual needs and support their success in the classroom.
  • Collaborate within the SST and when appropriate and necessary, evaluate students based on RTI for special education services.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff to design appropriate accommodations and interventions when special education or a 504 plan is necessary
  • Provide Behavior Consultation for students by designing and implementing measurable behavior interventions
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling for students with IEPs, as designed on an I.E.P
  • Provide counseling, consultation and community liaison work for students
  • Develop, coordinate, and support the implementation of 504 plans
  • Serve as a Behavior Intervention Implementer to support student with behavior support plans and provide training to BII to ensure implementation of treatment plans.
  • Support RTI and MTSS initiatives with mental health.
  • Stay current on best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Advocate for the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities, promoting equity and inclusivity in the school community.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and implementation of school culture plans while codifying district-level non-negotiables
  • Develop Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans in accordance with state RtI requirements
  • Support school sites in management of RTI-B documentation and implementation through district-level codification
  • Provide assistance and support in designing, implementing, and monitoring behavior management plans
  • Support programming in In-School Suspension (ISS) rooms
  • Attend school-site professional development and staff meetings to understand campus needs; delivery of training to small or large groups required as needed
  • Serve on SEL team at each school site to identify and address barriers to student learning as they relate to behavioral concerns
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid TN school psychologist license required
  • 5+ years experience at the middle and/or high school level
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student needs and develop appropriate behavior intervention strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain calm in crisis situations and to intervene appropriately
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in evaluating and accessing available resources and work effectively with community resources
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately document incidents and write reports
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through either formal or informal management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Experience developing, executing, and tracking FBAs and BIPs
  • Knowledge of RTI-B policies and procedures
  • A passion for improving urban middle and high schools and driving education reform
  • Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities preferred
  • CPI experience preferred and willingness to attend trainer certification
  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and have proven experience in data management, strategic planning, and project management
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments and handle complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Adheres to the highest ethical standards, demonstrates an empathetic disposition and perseverance; uses discretion and good judgment; reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively regarding data collection, student services identification and team member responsibilities
  • A demonstrated record of completing assignments
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, under deadlines, without close supervision; self-direction in the initiation, coordination, and completion of tasks, acute attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data and information from multiple sources and develop comprehensive recommendations at both a school and district level. Strong Excel or Google sheets skills are highly preferred
  • Proven ability to motivate peers to meet ambitious goals
  • Humility, sense of humor, and rock-solid commitment to Green Dot s mission and the communities we serve; interest in reforming public education
  • The ability to handle problems as they occur, and follow through on all aspects of the position
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to and from multiple school sites
  • Willingness and ability to travel; ability to work some weekends and evenings


SALARY RANGE: $75,000-$90,000.
