The Senior Support Engineer is part of the Network Operations Team that monitors and ensures uptime of KORE's Energy Storage Systems and Battery Products. The Senior Support Engineer is a key contributor to the Customer Support Process and works with cross functional Engineering teams to support optimized performance, control and automation aspects of the systems.

This role requires problem solving and troubleshooting of complex issues including coordination and delivery of 24/7 Customer Support. This position also contributes to Software Code Creation and Documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a desire to ensure optimal operation of Energy Storage Systems and is ideally suited to an individual with Software experience and a deep understanding of Electrical and Controls Engineering.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Resolution of Escalated Customer Support Issues
  • Review of Historical Data Trends
  • Automation of Monitoring and Issue Tracking
  • Coordination across Multiple Departments
  • Identification of Root Cause Troubles
  • Updates, Backups and Configuration of Data Historians
  • Analysis of Large Data Sets
  • Security and Configuration of System Networks
  • Creation of Interfaces for System Control.
  • Software Code Creation, Documentation and Review
  • Design and Implementation of System HMIs
  • Warehousing of Energy Market Data
  • Integration with 3rd Party APIs
  • Managing Source Control Repositories
  • Promotion of Data Standardization
  • Data Visualization and Communication


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Experience with the design and operation of Energy Storage Systems across multiple Engineering disciplines
  • Ability to respond quickly to ensure the best Customer Experience
  • Availability outside normal business hours as required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in processing historical data to identify root cause.
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
  • Use of APIs and integration between multiple IT systems.
  • Advanced Use of Linux-based operating systems.
  • Familiarity with MySQL and other databases.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing.
  • Communication and Networking protocols, including TCP/IP, Modbus, and CANbus.
  • Familiarity with office productivity software, including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Team player with a desire and willingness to learn.
Reports To

Reports to the Software Engineering and Network Operations Center Manager

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry 25lbs.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
  • Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork which can consist of hiking, construction work, moving objects, and wearing PPE for specific tasks.


Work is primarily based out of our Waterbury, Vermont office. Remote work may be an option for this position. During system construction and integration, you may be required to travel and help assemble or troubleshoot a system in the field.
