Senior SolidWorks Designer


Job Details

Our client headquartered in Hart County, Georgia, is seeking a Senior SolidWorks Designer. This position is pivotal in creating, reviewing, and updating structural drawings and driving design for production efficiency using SolidWorks CAD tools. This role will also be supporting overall design process and drawing configuration in the manufacture of steel and aluminum architectural / structural products.


This role will include associated tasks in drawing packages, conceptual renderings, production drawings, with possible technical publication and manual writing responsibilities. Responsibilities:

  • Creation of precise SolidWorks 3D & 2D Drawing data for steel and aluminum structures.
  • Work with leadership, project managers, production and technical teams to deliver high-quality deliverables.
  • Deliver and present documentation and designs as required, capture requirements and use cases as required.
  • Drive efficiencies in SolidWorks CAD configurations, design-table automation, CAD libraries and production documentation processes.



Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated expert experience Designing with SolidWorks CAD tools for manufacture in a production environment.
  • Experience with structural steel and aluminum assemblies, details and fasteners.
  • Experience coordinating with licensed Structural Engineer (PE) for redlines and executing the completion of stamped production drawings.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify problems, and think creatively to solve challenges.
  • Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and communicate well.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate in a fast paced, technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility.
  • Participate in customer meetings and correspondence to deliver exceptional results.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of on-the-job experience designing steel details, structures, and assemblies in SolidWorks 3D in a production environment.
  • Certified SolidWorks Associate / Professional in Mechanical Design (CSWA/CSWP).
  • Experience guiding and helping to train design team in process and best practices.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, as administrator, or as end-user.
  • Experience in creating SolidWorks, design-tables / configurations



Location / Schedule:

  • Onsite role in Hart County, Georgia.
  • Monday Friday, 8am 5pm, as required.
