Construction Project Manager

Our client is seeking a Project Manager to join their team in Murfreesboro, TN! Our client is focused on commercial projects in the $10,000 -$10 million range, with each project lasting roughly 6 months to a year. The preferred candidate should have ties to the region and possess a thorough understanding of the market dynamics and local subcontractors in the middle Tennessee area. This position is largely self-directed and as such the ideal candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, stakeholders, and project owners.

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, management, and evaluation of all functions of a specific project. These may include project cost control, forecasting, contract administration issues, subcontractor agreement administration, RFI, estimations, scheduling, etc. The Project Manager serves as a liaison between the Project and the Owner and needs to have complete control over the project s cost, schedule, contracts, risks and human resources.

This position is based in the Murfreesboro, TN area with approximately 75% of time spent in our client s office and 25% of time at job sites (all within an hour s drive of the office, you will be home every night). The target salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

The planned interview process for this position is 3 steps: initial screening call, a phone or video call with company leadership, and an on-site interview. This process may change based on business needs and availability.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists his/her leader in managing the relationship among several project areas, such as engineering, procurement, construction and installation, risk analysis and administration.
  • Monitors project performance and follows up on the implementation of necessary corrective measures.
  • Responsible for reviewing changes and modifications on project drawings and communicating them to the team.
  • Manages the project s schedule, it s baseline and subsequent updates.
  • Assists during subcontract agreement negotiations and, at any time, might have to lead such negotiations.
  • Negotiates change orders with the Owner and Subcontractors.
  • Ensures the project team understands the signed subcontract agreements and manages the documents.
  • Controls the project s budget.
  • Responsible to oversee submittals, daily reports, RFI s, meeting minutes and safety reports.
  • Ensures that project procedures are consistent with corporate philosophy.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor s direction.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years experience in the commercial/industrial construction industry.
  • Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with project management software such as MS Project, Quantum, Procore or similar is strongly preferred
  • Experience with MS Office suite
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
