How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

Production Planner creates Production Schedules based on sales and forecasts, and ensures that all material required to maintain that schedule is available as required. They work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse to ensure material flow runs smoothly.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Create Production schedule and plan work orders based on current orders and forecasts

Monitor incoming orders and work with Sales on Forecasts to create Production Plan

Monitor material required to meet planned schedule by working with Purchasing, Receiving, and incoming QA to ensure parts are available

Create shortage reports as needed

Release work orders to warehouse to be picked as material becomes available

Create routings for new material and maintain accurate lead time and procurement status accurate in ERP system

Provide Production status and facilitate timely delivery of products to customers (also work with the Shipping department to manage on time deliveries)

Monitor weekly and monthly production plans to prioritize work orders

Work with Production and subcontractors to ensure orders are processed and completed on time

Promptly inform relevant departments of changes to current Production Schedules

Analyze safety stock for high volume material on a quarterly basis

Analyze MOQ for manufactured items on a quarterly basis

Review and update quarterly forecast for high volume parts used on spare part orders

Manage and monitor inventory levels, including E & O inventory

Work with Engineering on Bom issues, and ECO releases

Be able to react to Rush requirements on a daily basis

Continuous Improvement (able to evaluate current state and create reports or processes to simplify current state)

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

At least 5 years of Production Planning experience; preferably using SAP

Minimum 3 years experience in SAP/ERP MRP systems

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Math and analytical skills

Organizational and Time management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Deadline driven

Detail oriented

Education & Certifications

Associate degree
