CLIENT PARTNER PROFILE & VALUE PROPOSITION: Leapros has been engaged by a highly respected, Orange Country real estate investment company to identify an experienced Senior Tax Accountant.


POSITION TITLE: Senior Tax Accountant


POSITION SUMMARY: The Tax Accountant will be part of a dynamic accounting team within a growing organization. They will report to the Tax Manager and contribute to the success of the organization by ensuring timely compliance and accurate research in meeting Federal, State, or Local requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Prepare and review tax work paper compilation in support of Federal, State, or Local partnership income tax filings.
  • Compilation of state apportionment calculations.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual REIT testing.
  • Assist with IRC Section 704 workpaper update.
  • Conduct tax research.
  • Review external JV K-1 s/tax forms per established procedures.
  • Quality review of investor K-1 s and processing of password protection.
  • Quarterly and annual tax projections.
  • Prepare tax withholding calculations and process tax payments.
  • Assist with tax extension preparation and filing, tax notice response, information gathering and letter drafts.
  • Tax compliance tracking and document organization.
  • Assist with other special projects assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent. MBT/MST a plus.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in partnership tax (ideally 5+ years), some public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Joint Venture accounting or passthrough entities is a plus and REIT experience a large plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with knowledge in Yardi and Adobe preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of investor information.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality work product.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines including those of the tax busy season.


PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available annual pay scale for this position is: $95,000-$110,000 plus bonus. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
