**Summary**

At Prairie Berry, were here to serve our guests. Thats difficult to do without clean dishes. The dishwasher/bus person is a vital link in the chain of Prairie Berrys positive customer experience. This person is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary conditions at the dishwashing station of the Kitchen, and making sure there are always clean dishes ready for the next guest. This job also requires clearing dishes from the tables in the dining area and patio. The person in this position is expected to interact graciously with any guests he or she encounters, and be a positive addition to the Kitchen team.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

* Maintains a guest focus while performing duties.

* MUST work weekends and evenings

* Possesses a positive attitude and works well with other team members

* Communicates clearly with managers, kitchen and other personnel

* Willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed

* Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect

* Completes Training Passport within the stated timeframes

* Follows sanitation and serving procedures

* Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware

* Load, run, and unload dish machine

* Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the chef or shift lead immediately

* Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle

* Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware

* Keep dish area clean and organized

* Complete opening and closing checklists

* Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen

* Bag and haul kitchen trash and recyclables to dumpster

* Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss

* Clean food preparation and production areas as required

* Closes the dish area properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing duties

* Buses indoor and outdoor tables and prepares tables and eating area for next guest

* Separates garbage and recycling items

* Takes glasses from the Tasting Bar to be cleaned

* Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement

* Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen staff or manager

* Contributes to building a positive team spirit

* Positively responds to requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors and customers

* Notices when help is needed in all areas of the Kitchen or during a special event

* Finds work to do when slow

**Qualifications and Skills**

* Is eager to learn

* Is self-motivated, especially under pressure

* Likes to have fun at work

* Able to work in a fast paced kitchen environment

* Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds

* Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 7 hours)

* Able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
