Purpose of the Position: Ensure that every child, regardless of their individual challenges, receives a tailored and inclusive education. Job Group Classification: Foundations, a member of the Point Quest Group

Overtime Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000 per year

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of IEP goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  • Assesses the mastery of student learning on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Identifies and supports individualized educational needs of students on a regular basis, seeking the support of district specialists as required.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student s life and conduct for the classroom; develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Skills or Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree (BA) from four-year College or university
  • An appropriate and current Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Hold a current AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Special Ed Certification


Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
