General Description:

Under minimal supervision, responsible for professional level accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily cash reconciliations for multiple accounts and companies and report discrepancies to supervisor daily.
  • Prepare daily or monthly journal entries to reflect accurate and timely cash position among multiple hospital units and cash general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile daily intercompany cash ledger balances and prepare entries to clear intercompany balances.
  • Prepare invoices for miscellaneous accounts receivable in Sage software, monitor outstanding balances and perform any necessary collection efforts on overdue balances.
  • Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports.
  • Capture, input, and review for accuracy the monthly stats for departments and hospital units.
  • Conduct special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
  • Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
  • Perform continual review of processes and makes recommendations for process improvement to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to the relevant organizational stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business related field

Experience: 1 or more years of professional work experience required. Two (2) or more years of professional level accounting experience preferred.

OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of accounting practices, and regulations. Good basic communication skills in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Will need good interpersonal skills for interaction with employees, clients and customers. Computer literate with some spreadsheet knowledge. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
