Job description

The Systems Administrator will help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot the systems infrastructure.As a Systems Administrator at TEC, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Windows-based systems and server environment. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows servers, managing Active Directory, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer our Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra (Azure AD).
  • Administer physical and virtual servers both on-premise and cloud based, ensuring high availability, performance and security
  • Troubleshoot network and system issues, conduct regular system audits, and oversee scheduled backups
  • Troubleshooting and patching of Windows, Linux and Unix servers, Cisco networking devices and general IT infrastructure.
  • Administer current backup solution and ensure business continuity by developing, implementing and testing disaster recovery plans and data redundancy measures.
  • Recommend the purchase of new equipment, software, solutions and services to meet business needs.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements where applicable
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and enforcing IT policies and procedures
  • Work with vendor representatives to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions for incidents
  • Provide emergency response and conduct off-hours scheduled maintenance as needed
  • Provide assistance with day-to-day user end helpdesk support tickets
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain VMware infrastructure
  • Support, manage and maintain our SQL servers
  • Manage and maintain NetApp storage
  • Administer users and call queues in 8x8 VOIP system
  • Maintain network consisting of Cisco and Meraki based devices
  • Generate thorough documentation of solutions and process
  • Take ownership of problems and use all resources and talents to come to acceptable resolution on issues. This person needs to be very good at troubleshooting.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks on their scheduled deadlines
  • Act as point of escalation for IT Support team to resolve complex issues and provide technical guidance
  • Manage user accounts and permissions in 3rd party software, aligning with company security policies.
Technical, Knowledge/skills and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration, Azure AD (Entra), and associated cloud technologies
  • Experience administering Microsoft 2008 - 2022 Server and Windows 10 and 11 desktop environments
  • Linux/Unix server environments, experience with AIX a plus
  • Experience with VMware hypervisors and vCenter management and configuration
  • SAN and storage, preferably NetApp
  • VOIP services
  • SQL
  • Citrix
  • LAN/WAN technologies, Cisco and Meraki, VPN and network security
  • Experience with Veeam for backup and disaster recovery
  • Proficient in PowerShell and creating automated processes
  • AWS
  • Druva
  • Minimum 5 years help desk / Systems Administration experience.
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and independent worker
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with ability to prioritize issues as they arise
  • Solid knowledge of IT security best practices and principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems / Networking
  • Bachelor's Degree in technology related field preferred
Job Location
  • In Lansing Corporate Office fulltime
  • Fulltime Monday through Friday
  • Rotating Saturdays
  • Shift based on business needs


Salary

Starting Rate Based on Experience

Minimum Starting Rate of $75,000

Requirements
