Penn Tank Lines, offering superior hauling services since 1974, is looking for a Finance Manager at our corporate office in Chester Springs, PA to oversee financial operations and ensure the fiscal health of our organization, with a focus on financial management, fleet management, strategic planning, and audit and compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making by senior management.
    • Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and monitor maintenance budgets and forecasts.
  • Fleet Management:
    • Track and analyze maintenance expenses, including repairs, parts, and labor costs.
    • Implement strategies to optimize fuel consumption.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in fleet maintenance operations.
    • Review spare parts and accessories with the Director of Maintenance to reduce spoilage and maintain efficient inventories.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Create business plans based on financial analysis and forecasts.
    • Provide M&A and divestment support.
    • Balance financial objectives with efficient fleet operations.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Assist coordination with external auditors for annual audits and reviews.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes affecting the transportation industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, with specific experience in P&L management in the transportation industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls
  • Proficiency in financial reporting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
  • Experience with Transportation Management Solutions preferred
