Job Details
Directional Driller:
All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
Locate for Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
Operate Horizontal Directional Drill
Assist in potholing and remediation.
Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins.
Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates.
Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.
Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions.
Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions.
Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage.
Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.
Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs etc.)
Follows specifications for the job and company policies.
Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site.
Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.
Locator:
Drives commercial vehicles to and from job site, towing a variety of trailers
Ability to develop communication skills with customers, governing bodies, and co-workers
Assist with routine labor (utility spotting, duct and fiber placement, equipment set-up, setting underground structures) as needed.
Willingness to cross-train as a drill operator.
Must be familiar with one call rules, spotting procedures, and safe utility excavation
Effectively read design maps and establish efficient bore path
Ensures all utilities have been spotted to ensure clear passage of drill tooling
Assists with spotting/ potholing
Forward thinking to assist with overall jobsite efficiency
Position requires the safe and efficient on-road transport of various pieces of equipment
Assist with fiber and cable placement
Able to properly stock truck with required tools, materials, and parts for efficient performance in the field
Abide by all company safety requirements and help ensure coworkers are operating in a safe manor
Punctual attendance is vital for this position
Responsible for complying with all company safety, OSHA, and DOT standards
All work is outdoors so ability to perform in all weather is required
Hand dig and mechanical excavation required
Safely operate and work around trucks and heavy equipment
Performs operator and laborer tasks as needed and required
Laborer:
Operate various tools & equipment to safely & efficiently complete the job.
Work with other crew personnel in a safe, organized, productive and enjoyable work environment.
You will be accountable and take direction.
