We are currently looking for a dedicated, organized Dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Dishwasher is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen equipment and work space in addition to restocking items, unloading delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed. To be successful as a Dishwasher, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Store and Dry pots and pans in their correct areas

* Clean and Sanitize all pots and pans

* Maintain cleanliness of the pot and pan area

* Properly store all of the equipment in the kitchen area

* Sweep and mop the kitchen, including all storage areas

* Put away deliveries in their proper storage areas, label and date

* Break down kitchen equipment (stoves, grill, and ovens) and clean thoroughly

* Clean the shelf above the dish sink.

* Clean and maintain the dish machine

* Keep the dish racks clean at all times

* Clean and sanitize all storage areas for equipment (dish carriers, tray carrier, shelves)

* Wipe down walls around the dish sink and dish washer

* Clean under and behind all equipment and dish sink

* Remove garbage from the kitchen as needed

* Sweep and mop the kitchen floor regularly

* Clean and sanitize the bathroom every Monday and Thursday

* Clean and organize the slop room regularly

* Assist as needed in other areas outside of the dishwashing area.

* The kitchen is to be spotless at all times and free of any possible hazards (water, oil, grease, etc.)

**Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements**

* Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

* Holds a valid NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate

* Must have a minimum of a High school Education or GED

* English language and professional communication skills are required

* Ability to take direction

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized

* Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge

* Individual is responsible for achieving on site certifications provided by employer

* Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies

* Ability to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds

* Occasional environment exposures to cold, heat and water
