Position Title Adjunct Instructor Job Summary Prepare, develop and administer oncology content that will provide students with contemporary practice skills and knowledge that meets CAPTE expectations and prepares graduates that are empathetic, competent, life long learners that perform at a minimum entry level of practice as a generalist physical therapist. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Knowledge of oncological physical therapy and 5 or more year experience teaching onocology.

2. Knowledge of contemporary physical therapy practice.

3. Ability to organize and present material in lecture and laboratory.

4. Ability to communicate effectively in large and small groups as well as one-on-one.

5. Ability to accurately examine the knowledge and clinical skills attained by the students.

6. Ablity to communicate professionally and effectively.

Required Qualifications

1. Education: A clinical doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT or transitional DPT ) and/or an academic doctorate. Certification or Board Certified Clinical Specialization preferred.

2. Experience: More than five year of teaching experience in onocology required.

3. Licensure: As required. Oregon State PT license or eligible for State licensure.

4. Preferences: Preference will be given to individuals with academic doctorates.

Preferred Qualifications Essential Job Duties Job Duty 1. Teaching

a. Teach and develop oncolocy content.

b. Teaching online and in the classroom and/or laboratory.

c. Provide the highest quality of teaching with the most current content information aligned with contemporary practice. This would include items such as:

1) utilization of audio-visual materials in lecture and laboratory;

2) accurate course materials and handouts;

3) supplementary computer assisted instruction materials; and/or

4) demonstration by role play and real patient examples.

d. Provide the highest quality of clinical supervision.

e. Maintain and promote high standards of intellectual integrity.

f. Prepare examination questions / assignments that assess the students accomplishment of lecture and laboratory objectives.

Percentage Of Time 70 Job Duty 2. Communication

a. Interact professionally within the department, College and University with all levels of administration and support staff, from level of President to Security Guard.

b. Be timely and accurate in all communications.

Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty . Clinical Practice of Physical Therapy/Professional Development

a. Maintain contemporary skills and knowledge via clinical practice and/or continuing education.

4. Align with CHS expectations

5. Maintain compliance with CAPTE standards, policies and procedures.

6. May be required to attend university functions outside normal working hours.

7. Provide tutorial instruction for students who require remediation.
