1st Relief FPS Shift Supervisor


Job Details

Golden SVCS, LLC is seeking to fill a full time 1st Relief Shift Supervisor position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure scheduling practices are in compliance with contract requirements and is cost effective.
  • Review, coordinate and interpret policy standards and directives; analyze and formulate strategies for the resolution of issues and concerns.
  • Organize and/or oversee the preparation, update, and modification of site rules, regulations, policy and procedures.
  • Ensure each employee is familiar with their post, duties and responsibilities.
  • Update, distribute, and maintain General "Guard" Orders, Post Orders, emergency and special orders for each security post and position.
  • Ensure the guard force personnel are assigned and supervised in a productive manner.
  • Continually review, evaluate operations and implement changes for improvement in morale and processes as needed.
  • Understand the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the Statement of Work (SOW), Post Orders and his/her role and responsibilities in executing the documents.
  • Assist in identifying training needs for subordinates and recommending appropriate action.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the various shifts and patrols.
  • Assist with quality assurance testing and corrective measures.
  • Sustain a work environment that promotes and encourages an effective flow of communication, continuous process improvement, and teamwork within the organization.
  • Promote a trusting relationship between security operations, the public, other law enforcement agencies, and FPS organizations.
  • Meet with guard force personnel on a regular basis to identify and address operational and administrative issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper management, supervision and training of probationary personnel.
  • Provide briefing activities concerning unusual or major incidents as needed or when directed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed and enforced by Shift Supervisors.
  • Assist in monitoring movement of government property, as needed, to deter loss.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the site management.
  • Conduct post checks, including after-hours.
  • Respond to after-hours incidents as directed by Contract Management or FPS Emergency Management.
  • Track GFE assigned to LF Protective Service Contract.
  • Review, manage, and approve employee time-cards.


Essential Job Requirements:

GED or High School Diploma (or higher); Must be 21 years old; Must have United States Citizenship; Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable federal, state, county, and municipal licensing requirement for Security Officers; Must be able to speak, read, and write using coherent English language; Must have FPS experience. Must have at least 1 year of supervisory experience in law enforcement or security management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Skill & ability to acquire & maintain knowledge of applicable federal laws/regulations and restrictions relative to operation;

Skill & ability to acquire & maintain knowledge of assigned weapons and equipment;

Skill & ability to meet medical, physical fitness, and firearms standards;

Skill & ability to meet the training requirements;

Skill & ability to retain in-depth knowledge of applicable federal laws, orders/policies/standard procedures;

Ability to follow the company safety rules and GS policies;

Ability to successfully complete drug screening requirements;

Ability to maintain integrity and trustworthiness which is mandatory in the security environment;

Ability to obtain & maintain a valid Driver's License;

Ability to possess a firearm and ammunition;

Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime;

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to successfully pass the FPS Mandated Physical referenced in the FPS SOW;

May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area;

Stand or walk constantly on various surfaces;

Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, occasionally during shift;

Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the job as needed;

Able to bend, stoop, run, and ability to adapt to the given situation physically and mentally

Due to the nature of the position and requirements of the job working a flexible hour schedule is not possible for this position.

Telecommuting and remote work locations are not available for this position as related to the ADAAA. Due to the nature of the position, physical presence is required as an essential function of the job.
