Job Details

Designs, develops and provides safety testing, repair, and maintenance of biomedical equipment. Ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or military medical repair specialist school or equivalent electronic training and experience.Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsible work order control, PM schedules and generation; parts purchase request and equipment history records.Assists with staff training, in-services, policy and procedures, regulatory compliance and software data management.Establishes and maintains supporting technical literature, such as manufacturer's literature, references standards, specifications and other documents necessary for supporting the Biomedical Program.Performs preventive maintenance, safety tests, incoming inspections, installation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, for all patient care equipment.Maintains inventory ofhospital stretchers and beds; completes PM's and repairs. Serves as an advisor to appropriate hospital committees.Actively serves as a member of the EOC committee.Demonstrates cost-effective decision making skills.Performs security duties.Performs all other duties assigned.
