Position Summary


PIPECARE is looking for Assembly Technician for Houston, Texas. The general role for the Assembly Technician is to troubleshoot and repair pigs, control panels, wiring, tools and machine components as required supporting test runs and other related activities.


Key Responsibilities & Authorities:


  1. Reading Drawings: Understanding and interpreting technical drawings is crucial for assembling mechanical parts accurately.
  2. Assembly and Disassembly: Performing the assembly and disassembly of various mechanical components and equipment based on the provided drawings and instructions.
  3. Tool Usage: Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as necessary for assembly tasks.
  4. Project Planning: Determining project plans at the beginning of jobs and identifying the best fabrication solutions to meet project requirements.
  5. Safety Communication: Effectively communicating safety programs and instructions to the shop floor to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Workspace Organization: Maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency in operations.
  7. Manual Interpretation: Reading and interpreting machine operation and maintenance manuals to ensure proper assembly processes.
  8. Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing various components, including pigs, control panels, wiring, and machine components, as needed to support test runs and other activities.
  9. Production Goals: Working towards achieving monthly production goals while maintaining a balance between productivity and attendance.
  10. Housekeeping: Taking responsibility for the cleanliness and safety of the workspace and production area to minimize risks to both employees and equipment.
  11. Flexibility: Being adaptable to execute other tasks as requested by the Production Manager or immediate Supervisor within the assigned job role.

Skills/Experience:

  • school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-5 years experience in the same field preferably oil & gas industry
  • reading, listening, speaking and problem-solving skills
  • dexterity, physical strength, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • experience in assembly or manufacturing roles is desirable.
  • to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • color discernment and color vision
  • computer skills, as well as knowledge of manufacturing reporting software
  • engine and compressor factory training and/or certification required
