Our client is hiring a Corporate Accounting Manager here in Columbia, South Carolina. The role primarily involves managing the accounting operations, overseeing the close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The successful candidate will be adept at prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and leading a team of 2 in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the 5-day close process for North America, including planning, organization, and review of all close processes, entries, and accounts
  • Own and review general ledger account reconciliations within the North American Trial Balance
  • Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including systems administration, invoice approvals and coding, and vendor master management
  • Act as liaison to external audit team, facilitating all communication between the accounting and finance team and the audit teams
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment within the accounting department
  • Utilize ERP system and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze accounting data
  • Handle Lease Accounting and ensure compliance with ASC 842
  • Conduct Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and manage Month End Close processes


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial accounting experience, including 2+ years in a relevant leadership position
  • Proficiency in performing Month End Close procedures is essential.
  • Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is a necessity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with General Ledger management are required.
  • Familiarity with a large ERP software is expected.
  • Proficiency in Lease Accounting is essential.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.
  • Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
