Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of the Research Institute, the Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting internal research efforts. Responsibilities include patient-participant recruitment and consenting, managing participant tracking and conducting research interviews, collecting and preparing data for analyses.

The Research Analyst will be responsible for longitudinal patient-participant follow-up activities, including post-study participant interviews. The Research Analyst will effectively manage active participants ensuring study objectives are met in terms of adequate sample sizes, follow-up procedures, and incentive administration.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of the Research Institute, the Research Analyst will:
  • Support the Office of the Research Institute in the planning, development, and implementation of internal research and quality assurance studies.
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform study design, measure selection, analysis design, and outcome measures.
  • Conduct and interpret analyses of patient data and administrative datasets to evaluate prevalence, patterns and trends of patient outcomes, inpatient service utilization, and any associations with social determinants of mental health.
  • Pre-process, clean, and prepare data for analysis using R; document data management procedures.
  • Support in the development of reports and data briefs to communicate the results of analysis in clear and meaningful ways to a lay audience.
  • Support in the development of PowerPoint presentations for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Partner with Research Institute team to compose and prepare scientific articles for publication.
  • Collaborate with members of the research team, industry stakeholders, and inter-departmental staff.
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Master's or doctorate degree in a mental or public health research field.
  • Experience in wide-ranging data collection methods.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to write research reports for publication in reputable journals.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Must possess a broad understanding of research and statistics relevant to mental health care.
  • Experience in advanced statistical analyses (e.g., Structural Equation Modeling, Multilevel Modeling) in one of the following software environments (R, SPSS, or Mplus).
  • Possesses a combination of organizational, clinical and research skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions.
  • Ability to lift and/or push pull up to 20 lbs; move around campus on uneven and rural terrain.
  • Ability to speak, hear, see, sit, walk, stand, reach, and use fine/gross motor skills.
