Staff Accountant

Summary:

This position is responsible assisting in all accounting functions (A/P, A/R, G/L and Financial Reporting) for CTIA and related companies. This position will assist in timely preparation of invoicing to customers, posting of all daily accounts receivable transactions, bank deposits, maintaining ledgers and other records, including reconciliation to the general ledger, billing, collections, A/P invoice approval portal, A/P electronic payment processing and general ledger activity including fixed assets, investments and membership accounting.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Accounting Functions

* Follow all Accounting Policy and Procedures

* Assist in preparation of daily deposit electronically or at local branch

* Assist in posting cash receipts to the accounting system

* Assist in invoicing all CTIA customers either electronically or by paper

* Assist in the collections for all receivables

* Assist in the payment posting and application

* Maintaining well organized filing system

* Research all unidentified banking transactions

* Backup other staff accounting positions as needed

* Update Accounting Policy and Procedures where applicable

* Assist with the preparation of audit schedules

Customer Support

* Work with customer to ensure timely payment of outstanding receivables

* Effective communication with internal and external customers

* Prepare special request information as needed; banking info, W-9 and wires etc.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

Strong accounting principles; must have understanding of journal entries and financial statement preparation.

Computer skills:

Strong Excel skills preferably with V-Lookup and Pivot table experience.

Education and/or experience:

BS or BA in Accounting required, entry-level position, Spring 2022 graduates encouraged to apply

Language skills:

The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral skills. Working knowledge of grammar, punctuation and proficiency in proofreading skills.

COVID-19 Protocol:

CTIA is currently teleworking and this hire may be brought on remotely. The hire is expected to work in the DC office Tuesday-Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday when our office re-opens.
