Software Asset Operations Analyst/Software Asset Manager
Summary:
Manage all software renewals and new purchases. This position requires advanced computer skills, customer service, reporting, and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Liaison with sourcing, vendor, IT, and business for direction concerning IT engineering software assets
- Manage NDAs, PIA s, engineering contract automation for software maintenance renewals with vendors
- Work closely with business units in understanding requirements, identifying alternatives, and supporting tactical buying requests and funding requests
- Monitor vendor performance and manage ongoing vendor relationships, including conformity to contract performance, resolution of payment disputes, and activity on critical dates (extensions, renewals, price adjustments, etc.)
- Work with program and technical managers to determine opportunities to right size license pools to drive cost out
- Help customers understand the software compliance risk within their software environment
- Engineering software management lead - software optimization, data usage enterprise monitoring, IT chargeback, tracking active and inactive license usage
- Operational and administrative activities as needed
- Provide software database entry and reporting.
- Manage the data in Software Inventory Databases (AWS Cloud/PostgreSQL)
- Run reports for renewals
- Maintain data integrity
- Update renewal dates and other pertinent information

- Tactical buying experience
- Relationship management skills
- Software licensing models and entitlements
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access
- Analytical background with strong data analysis skills
- Strong and clear communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Strong time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work both independently as well as collaboratively achieving results within established timeframes with minimal supervision.
