Accord Carton is seeking a full-time CAD/Structural Designer to work in our Alsip, Illinois location.
This position will provide structural design for trials, sales proposals, production approvals and provide support in areas of tooling.
Responsibilities:
- Providing design prototype samples for customers based on the product and instructions from the customer and sales representatives sample requests.
- Duplicate any structures customers send as their preferred package structure.
- Use of CAD system to design structures, die layouts, product sizes, and styles.
- Ordering Die.
- Communicating with customers, and department managers.
- Output layout information to the laser die maker to produce production die boards.
- Maintaining files product structures.
- Ensuring changes are properly approved and documented.
- Maintenance and service of CAD equipment and computers.
Experience/Skills:
- Four plus years of experience as a CAD/Structural Designer in the Folding Carton Industry is highly desirable.
- College degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Must have experience in packaging structural design using a CAD system.
- Ability to operate various types of tooling machinery.
