Supply Chain Purchasing Coordinator - Restaurant Level Services 1000 Darden Center Dr, Orlando FL 32837 JOB OVERVIEW:

The Purchasing Coordinator works with the Purchasing Manager and Buyer to develop and implement strategies to purchase and manage various services for new restaurant development, operations and facilities. Focusing on the acquisition of services that represent medium to high levels of risk and value, the Purchasing coordinator will support the Manager or Buyer in reporting needs that will assist in evaluating options/scenarios, agreements, and recommendations to present to Brand and Facilities leadership. The Purchasing coordinator uses his/her knowledge to support the day to day needs of operations and Facilities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Direct suppliers in support of operations, facilities and new restaurant construction projects.

-Track and follow up with operations, leadership and suppliers on all daily restaurant level issues

-Research, draft responses and communicate outcomes for any specification and technical questions

-Create and maintain Purchase Orders in iBuy, if needed

-Verify vendor acknowledgement of Purchase Order and service dates

-Research vendor invoicing to assure proper payments

-Verify and make appropriate changes to Purchase Orders for invoice processing.

-First escalation point of service issue prior to escalating to Manager or Buyer

-Perform special project work as requested

-Uses information systems to establish new items and/or vendors

-Uses information systems to run various reports in support of Buyer activities

-Submits requests to vendors, compiles information, and shares with Buyers

-Maintains electronic and paper-based file systems

-Actively participates with product development efforts, such as requesting and tracking samples, on-going verification of product quality, etc.

-Serves as go-to person for internal (Darden) and external (Suppliers) for on-going communications

-Fields inquiries related to category, such as product complaints, pricing, shortages, outages, specifications, as well as for technical-related aspects of category

-Collects information and seeks approval from buyers

-Determines the priority of requests from buyers in order to accomplish work efficiently and meet the needs of internal customers

-Serves as a back-up to other coordinators/specialists, as assigned

-Attend meetings with purchasing manager, internal and external stakeholders, such as brand leadership, Supply Chain Systems, Concept Support, Suppliers, Law Team, etc., if needed

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

-Minimum of five years or relevant experience

-Experience with purchasing one or more categories of products or services

-General understanding of industry-related markets

-Experience with purchasing/buying negotiation tactics

-Understanding of business/business acumen

-Knowledge and familiarity with the use of software/information systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

-High School diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

-People management experience preferred but not require

-Bachelor of Science degree preferred
