Mackenzie Stuart are currently partnered with a market leading dietary supplement contract manufacturer looking for a Senior Buyer responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing materials, equipment and supplies.
This company is a market leader within the dietary supplement contract manufacturing industry. With a commitment to delivering high-quality, science-backed nutritional products, they specialize in providing turnkey solutions for brands seeking excellence in product development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee the procurement of designated material categories, ensuring timely placement of purchase orders.
- Manage the confirmation of purchase orders and coordinate inbound logistics.
- Take charge of pricing for listed materials and lead initiatives to reduce costs.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Assess and select suppliers based on various criteria including quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and maintain positive relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of industry trends and potential new suppliers.
- Collaborate with teams across functions to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, inventory, and supplier agreements.
To be considered for the role, the following education, experience and qualifications are required:
- +5 years of procurement experience in purchasing roles, ideally within industries related to nutraceuticals or food and beverage manufacturing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effective collaboration with diverse teams and external suppliers.
