Sphera Search is working with a top mid-size firm based in Metro Detroit on its search for a commercial litigation associate.
This firm is a destination for talented associates because of its reasonable billable hour requirement coupled with a competitive compensation package.
We are seeking an attorney with at least two years of business litigation experience and an interest in a broad-based practice that includes contract disputes, data privacy breaches, environmental litigation, real estate litigation, financial disputes, intellectual property claims, warranty claims, construction disputes, and employment disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and identify potential legal issues.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for filing in state and federal courts.
- Collaborating with partners, associates, and support staff to effectively manage caseloads and meet deadlines.
- Participating in client meetings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Providing high-quality legal advice and advocacy to clients, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes and protecting their interests
- Assist with trials and alternative dispute resolution.
Qualifications:
- Admission to the Michigan State Bar (or eligible for admission upon hiring).
- Minimum of two years of experience practicing commercial litigation in a law firm setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate persuasively on behalf of clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service and delivering results.
