Long-Term Care Housekeeping

Job Summary: The Long-Term Care Housekeeping staff is responsible for ensuring a clean, sanitary, and organized living environment for residents and a safe working environment for staff within the long-term care facility. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the overall well-being of residents by upholding high standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:

Room and Common Area Cleaning:

    • Perform daily cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.
    • Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and other routine cleaning activities.
  1. Infection Control:
    • Follow established protocols for infection control and prevention.
    • Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to minimize the risk of infections.
  2. Waste Management:
    • Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  3. Stocking and Inventory:
    • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other necessary items.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, such as nursing and maintenance, to address specific needs and concerns.
    • Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding housekeeping services.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
