AV Rack Fabrication Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The AV Rack Fabrication Technician will assemble equipment racks and perform quality control testing before delivery to the project job site.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for equipment rack fabrication for projects in accordance with wiring diagrams and standards for quality assurance.
- Install components in rack according to engineering drawings.
- Install cabling according to engineering drawings within the rack between components.
- Able to read engineering drawings and follow directions.
- Build custom wiring harnesses from engineering drawings, which includes soldering, crimping, and assembling cable connectors as directed.
- Builds custom stock cables and tests for workmanship.
- Maintains rack fabrication build sheets for inventory used, including serial numbers, MAC addresses, firmware versions, and IP addresses if static.
- Responsible for inventory asset accuracy and physical inventory discrepancies between system records and actual count.
- Building, labeling, testing, and shipping preparation for all client A/V rack cabinets sent through Rack Fabrication.
- Uncompromising attention to rack building detail in maintaining standards that exceed industry standards.
- Locate materials to facilitate in-house production for projects.
- Ability to perform basic system component assembly (rack mounting) of electronic devices and install cabling according to company standards.
- Power management.
- Signal separation and cable management.
- Assist in the testing of rack systems.
- Communicate needs in both consumables and stock to AV.
- Other Duties as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
2+ years experience in collaboration or Audio-Visual Integration
High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
