Job Requirements

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Body SE Team in building robust systems in the 3D and 2D environment to facilitate more efficient communication and daily job functions
  • Reporting to the Body PE SE Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide equipment and process plans that support new model production readiness and vehicle performance targets
  • CAD Data Handling and User Support
  • New and existing model data format conversion for use in Digital Engineering (DE) environment (Catia)
  • Master Project data management (maintaining latest current production model assembly data from PDM system) and tracking
  • Completing data synchronization request procedure and maintaining a strong relationship / communication with our overseas counterparts
  • Set up new vendor and troubleshooting of data exchange process between Client and external vendors
  • Testing software updates for CAD systems (Catia/Delmia)
  • Helping with new user support for CAD system access, basic use, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Data Handling and Organizing
  • Maintaining digital libraries or database of various items for team reference such as special welding joint / structure summaries; direct materials usage areas, volumes, mapping; facility knowledge base; in-house and outsourced parts; etc.
  • Specialized Tasks
  • Performing weld number and position checks in 3D environment (Delmia) for each vehicle model
  • Updating / building part assembly instructions (Screw Body Flow Chart) for NA designed projects
  • Tracking/reporting software license usage SharePoint
  • Modernizing / updating team SharePoint Site and group data organization
  • Maintain / update manuals and template section of SharePoint site
  • Creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting SharePoint site permission/access
  • Training and documentation for other members to administer and support use of SharePoint sites


Job Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in vehicle body work and paint skill (trade school education or work equivalent experience)
  • Ability to sand / finish resin parts to desired finish level
  • Ability to judge surface and coating finish vs. boundary sample JIG, or Fixture design and adjustment
  • Have ability to fix minor imperfections (sand and rub)
  • Ability to accommodate daily priority changes as needed
  • Willingness to follow standardized work and safety protocols
  • Ability to work both independently and in small teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to the customer (embrace flexibility of assignment and willingness to support in all functional roles)
  • Fundamental paint knowledge and skills (Mixing paint, setting up gun, spray application, etc.)
