As a key member of the Surveillance and Security team, the Surveillance Technician is a communication position responsible for the set up, installation and repair of electronic communications equipment, as well as, installation, maintenance and repair of surveillance equipment. This position is a customer facing role that will require frequent travel.

Monday-Friday: 8-5

Highly likely: Overtime, On-Call, Weekends, and After-Hours.

Role Priorities / Responsibilities:

  • The technician will be responsible for field support of the Solar Surveillance product line
  • Set up, install and repair electronic communications equipment; including computers, phone systems, wireless products, LTE, and satellite systems (systems/equipment used, but not limited to: PBX, Auto Acquirers, LTE modems, and use of hard wiring)
  • Communicate job progress to customers, job managers, and Technical Services
  • Configure network, telephony and other communication equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network, telephony, LTE, and VSAT related issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair solar systems related to product lines
  • Complete field retrofits related to product improvements
  • Provide guidance to customers for best equipment placement and configuration during installations and service calls

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of various VMS (Video Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of various types of IP cameras and supporting systems and components
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to troubleshoot low voltage systems on their own or with minimal remote guidance
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic
  • Exemplifies a customer service first attitude
  • Exemplifies attention to detail in their work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word Processing, and Outlook email applications
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets fleet insurance requirements
  • Ability to travel out of state for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift equipment weighting up to 60lbs
  • Stallion is a drug free environment, must pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screen

Education and Experience:
  • Preferred training from a two-year vocational school or equivalent training
  • 2 years of experience working with CCTV systems including IP cameras, NVRs and other peripheral components
  • 2 years' experience working with networking
  • Preferred 5 years of experience working with and troubleshooting various transports (LTE, Satellite and various point to point systems)
  • Preferred 5 years of experience working with low voltage systems including 12VDC, 24VDC and 110VAC
