DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a hands-on caretaker focused on facilities, farm, landscaping, construction, and woodland management for a client's extensive properties in Massachusetts and Maine. Properties includes the clients residence, a working animal and produce farm, vacation homes, and office.

Responsible for all maintenance and preventative care to ensure a safe and healthy living environment at all properties while maintaining and enhancing the value of all properties and protecting privacy and confidentiality of the client.

Caretaker must live on property in provided 4-bedroom home. 5 year commitment required.

FARM DESCRIPTION

We are a team dedicated to caring for a family estate including several properties on the North Shore of Boston. This includes a personal home, office, and coastal hobby farm. We are committed to living lives of excellence marked by integrity, work ethic, and honor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide maintenance and all service needs to multiple properties on the North Shore of Boston. Occasional maintenance to one property in Maine would also be required. The following responsibilities include: upkeep of HVAC, pool systems, electrical, painting, snow removal, lawn care, tree trimming, wood chipping, waterfront work, dock commissioning and decommissioning, spring openings, storm preparations and clean up, trash management, vacation checks, fireplaces, deliveries, sauna, irrigation systems, irrigation system repairs, irrigation system clocks, well systems, RO systems, water softeners, generators, propane tanks, lutron system, solar system, solar hot water, tool maintenance, machine maintenance and service, event preparation, event clean up, lake weed management, tree removal, flag and flagpole maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills given multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain regular documentation of projects, invoices, vendor information, etc. * Comfortable with and adept at learning new technology interfaces and software. Ability to use mobile devices for coordinating and reporting work performed.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, highly motivated, self-directed with minimal daily supervision. Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to new and varying situations.
  • Respect for privacy and ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to adjust to variable interior and exterior conditions throughout the year in various climates.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and power tools. Carpentry skills seen as an advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a team-centric environment with direct reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, Excel, with prior experience and understanding of integrated home technology and security systems.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in similar role or related experience required (including an understanding of all major construction trades).
  • Ability to operate farm machinery such as tractors, forklifts, etc.
  • Current valid drivers license required.
