Senior Director of Procurement

Role Summary:

The Senior Director of Procurement is responsible for developing a strategic approach to the corporate procurement process for the purchase of direct and indirect non-merchandise goods and services (goods and services). In this leadership role, the successful candidate will direct the procurement of goods and services for the company; direct RFPs, RFQs, and similar processes to obtain goods and services for the company, negotiate contracts with partners for goods and services (assisted as necessary by Legal); assist Procurement team members and other colleagues with procurement processes; develop and update procurement policies and procedures; and develop a centralized procurement program that will add value and efficiency to the organization.



Role Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge of the market, in addition to current prices and fair rates for goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for efficiently, honestly, competitively and productively purchasing goods and services.
  • Develop and administer requests for proposals, requests for quotes, and similar processes to obtain bids for goods and services.
  • Negotiate with potential partners for contracts for goods and services.
  • Advise and support internal clients in selecting and managing third party vendors for goods and services.
  • Hire and onboard Procurement team members as necessary and justified by cost savings and work load.
  • Establish essential guidelines for approving purchase orders, set purchasing policies, manage budget for materials and continuously consider stock requirements, skills and account balances.
  • Maintain company purchasing budget and streamline costs.
  • Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization.
  • Research and recommend procurement / p2p systems for potential implementation.


Role Qualifications:
  • Solid analytical and computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional business partner relationships.
  • Outstanding team building and leadership skills.
  • 7-10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance.
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program.
  • Experience using and implementing procurement / p2p systems.
  • Retail experience required.
