World Relief seeks a part-time Graphic Design intern to join the Church and Community Engagement Training Team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience creating resources to inform, educate and inspire others to engage in welcoming immigrant neighbors to the U.S. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work co-creatively with our team to turn concepts into engaging, useful resources.

Role & Responsibilities

    • Reporting to the Training Product Specialist, this person will create visually appealing and on-brand design materials for various Church & Community Engagement programs like Churches of Welcome, Good Neighbor Teams, and The Workshop E-Learning Program;
    • Work with the Training Team to develop and execute creative concepts that align with project goals and objectives;
    • Create designs to specification for digital and print platforms, including: social media, website, interactive e-learning content, email, infographics, presentation decks, and other educational & promotional collateral;
    • Collaborate and brainstorm design projects with various staff in Church & Community Engagement, Marketing department and local offices across the U.S.;
    • Ensure that all design materials adhere to the organization's brand guidelines and other Training Team best practices to maintain a consistent visual identity across all projects & resources;
    • Actively participate in design reviews, take feedback constructively, and make revisions as needed;
    • Manage project schedules and competing deadlines;
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design & digital media


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Fluency in Canva is essential; Experience with Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Thinglink, Asana or WordPress is a plus;
    • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams);
    • Strong visual design skills with a solid understanding of layout, typography and color theory;
    • Ability to receive art direction and work within an existing brand style;
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and co-create effectively with team members;
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines;
    • Attention to detail and quality


Requirements
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Currently enrolled in or has completed an A.A. or B.A. degree or has equivalent work experience in Graphic Design or related major;
    • Experience designing for both print and digital (social media, websites, video, etc);
    • Willing to learn, ask for help, communicate directly and engage with a growth mindset;
    • Online portfolio showing samples of design work;

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.

Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.

Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
