Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Bloomfield, CT 06002
Duration 06+ Months with possible extension
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Significant experience required in Manufacturing Plant and Complex Accounting experience, including supervisory experience to manage a team of accountants and/or a complex process that interacts with multiple individuals outside of the department.
- Knowledge and experience of Finance systems and ERP Tools and Software- Oracle/JDE, Bolt, HFM/planful and other financial reporting tools..
- Performing and/or overseeing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the company s general ledger, resolving complex accounting issues resulting from routine and non-routine accounting transactions.
- Reviews general ledger entries, account reconciliations, internal and external reports, schedules, and statements.
- Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary and Implements new accounting standards.
- Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures. (Important)
- Manufacturing cost account experience, such as annual physical inventory, standard cost rollup in ERP, PPV analysis, prepare journal entries of inventory/ cost adjustment, E&O reserve analysis, meeting various audit and compliance requirements associated with costing and inventory.
- Account reconciliations.
- Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solution.
Education:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience
