**Mobile Food Manager and Chef**
Retail / Taprooms Lexington/Louisville , Kentucky Minimum Experience **Mid-level** West Sixth Brewing is a craft brewery and taproom located in downtown Lexington, KY. We focus on producing the highest quality, fresh, delicious craft beer, and sharing it with others by distributing it to other restaurants and bars in the Central Kentucky area. We were the first brewery to can its beer in Kentucky, and distribute flagship and seasonal beers to stores throughout the Commonwealth and across the river in Cincinnati, OH. Finally, we also operate a taproom at our production facility, located in the Bread Box at 501 West Sixth Street; our Louisville taproom in NuLu; the West Sixth Farm in Franklin County; and our West Sixth Boxpark taproom in Newport.

About the Position
Mobile Food Manager and Chef (Full-time Position)
The Mobile Food Manager and Chef will be the go-to for all things West Sixth Food. As we roll out West Sixth Cantina, our new food truck, youll be training and overseeing staff, lining out processes to ensure the kitchens success, prepping ingredients, preparing meals, demonstrating and driving excellent customer service and generally leading an awesome kitchen team. Youll be responsible for tracking sales data and inventory, making sure we have everything we need to be successful. We make great beer, and youll help us make great food too, and have an awesome time doing it!
This position can be based in Lexington, Frankfort or Louisville-the West Sixth Cantina food truck will spend most of the week at our West Sixth Farm location, just outside of Frankfort, KY. The position reports to the Director of Retail.
Day to Day Activities:
* Direct and/or execute food preparation
* Develop menu and recipes
* Order necessary food ingredients on as-needed basis
* Update and log sales data
* Maintain cost of goods sold data
* Build and maintain relationships with wholesalers
* Train staff on best practices in the kitchen
* Supervise staff and monitor performance
* Write weekly schedules
* Cook meals solo and with staff
* Develop strong process for cleaning the food truck and prep area and maintaining all kitchen items and appliances
* Driving the food truck to events, as necessary
* Plan, coordinate, and execute on promotional activities in coordination with Marketing team and Retail Operations team
Minimum Requirements:
* 2+ years restaurant or relev food experience
* Valid Drivers License, good driving record and a reliable automobile.
* Comfortable with driving a food truck
* Well versed in Health Department guidelines and rules for food trucks.
* Ability to lift 50lbs
The right person will be someone that wants to manage a kitchen staff, cook meals for customers and help us develop processes that will ensure excellent food quality, cleanliness and great customer service. You'll be working on the Retail team, but in communication with and supported by other teams that make up West Sixth, including Creative and Marketing, Shipping and Receiving, Sales and KY Events. Were looking for a team player, and one who is excited about the challenge of helping to build a successful business.
