GovTact is seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to support its SITE III DO contract charged with the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission critical applications and services supporting a major Directorate within the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). The SITE III DO contract is designed to establish and ensure a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National apparatus of Defense Intelligence, Combatant Commands, supporting Partner Nations and other Federal Agencies to ensure timely and accurate Human Intelligence (HUMINT) collection, correlation and dissemination. Our support team applies best practices in architecture design, data science, cloud services, DevSecOps and platform integration to develop, sustain and continually evolve the global U.S. human intelligence apparatus and supporting partners.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers and software developers.
  • Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
  • Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Configure Unix, Linux operating systems.
  • Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files. Working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies and ability to work with and run STIGs via a viewer or other automated tools.


Qualifications:


BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5


Required skills:

  • Full time work in a SCIF is required, but hours are flexible. Should be available during core business hours. Some mission critical applications would require availability after hours and during weekends should the need arise.
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in related field of study with 8 or more years of experience. Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • TS/SCI with active CI polygraph
  • Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active
  • Linux (CentOS, RHEL, and/or Oracle). This position requires strong Linux skills with current/very recent experience.
  • Experience working in an AWS environment and familiarity with console accesses to provision, maintain and monitor servers.
  • Performing snapshots, backups, disaster recovery, performance tuning
  • Installation, STIG hardening, patching
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills (including scripting and audit log review) and Tier 1 communication skills

Desired skills:

  • Experience working with Agile scrum teams
  • Experience developing and maintaining critical documentation (SIPs, SAGs, SUMs, SOPs, Getting started guides)
  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly
  • PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts
  • Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud)
  • Experience supporting security audits and testing events.
