Cosmetic Inspector


Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Blocking, lathing, surface and optical inspection, and polishing
  • Ensuring accuracy of contact lens prescription using production equipment including CNC lathe, radius gauge, stereo microscope, lensometer and digital measuring devices
  • Accurate completion of paperwork and or electronic inspection to ensure product acceptance and traceability.
  • Maintaining clean, safe, & efficient manufacturing environment
  • Working collaboratively with production team under general supervision
  • Maintain and improve skills in all operations through training.
  • Assist supervisor & Training Coordinator onboarding and training new technicians.
  • Support manufacturing process improvement projects and new product development.
  • Communicate to engineering technicians regarding defects found during inspection methods.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1-5 years' prior manufacturing experience or equivalent training/education
  • 1 years' experience in medical device manufacturing required
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in contact lens manufacturing
  • Ability to visually inspect for defects under magnification and identify and distinguish between colors
  • Ability to read and carefully follow instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organization skills
  • Excellent collaboration and teamworking skills
  • Ability to stand or sit during 8 hour durations
  • Ability to work overtime as required
