Job Description
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Association Director of Teens to lead our initiatives focused on teens' development and well-being. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep commitment to working directly with teens and supervising a team of full-time and part-time staff members. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping teens from diverse backgrounds in various zip codes to thrive and achieve success in their educational and personal lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Overarching
- Teen Engagement: Oversee and engage with a group of 375 teens from six different zip codes. Facilitate activities and programs that encourage positive youth development.
- Teen Night Activities: Plan and execute engaging and impactful teen night activities to foster a sense of community and personal growth.
- Partnership Building: Establish and maintain relationships with local schools and other non-profit organizations to create collaborative opportunities and support teens' growth.
- Data Collection: Oversee and participate in the collection and analysis of data to measure outcomes.
- Grant Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate completion of grant reports, including CCPD, CDBG, and the 505 grant.
- After-School and Weekend Activities: Create, manage and engage in a diverse range of after-school and weekend activities that cater to teenagers' interests and needs.
- Activity Calendar: Create and maintain a yearly and monthly activity calendar to keep teens engaged and on a path to success.
Project 505 - Implementation of the 505 Grant: Take charge of the YMCA's 505 grant program through the United Way. This involves the recruitment, training, and monthly reporting on program progress.
- Survey Administration: Administer pre and post-surveys through the Search Institute to assess the impact of our programs on teen development.
- Community Service Projects: Develop and lead community service projects that provide opportunities for students to give back to their community.
- One Second Collaborative Objective: Collaborate with the team to achieve the goal of reducing gun violence by 5% in Tarrant County as part of the One Second Collaborative initiative.
Y-Achievers Responsibilities: - Post-High School Readiness: Prepare teens for post-high school life by providing guidance and curricula on post-high school options.
- Weekly Activities: Design and lead weekly activities that equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for life after high school, including dress to success, interview skills, life skills, social skills, and conflict resolution training.
- College Tours: Plan and coordinate college tours to expose students to various post-secondary educational opportunities.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND - A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Four or more years or program management experience.
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
- High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
- The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
- This leader will also need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
- A proven track record in building authentic relationships with others and the ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.
