Job Summary

Manage interface/contributor for a broad range of critical PSEG financial functions, requiring very strong leadership skills (including ability to manage resources inside and outside the department), in depth company/industry/market knowledge and technical skills. Highly trusted position due to highly confidentiality of information. Directs SAP cost planning process for Enterprise, leads the monthly earnings/cash forecast highlights process, supports the long range planning process and is Corporate Planning's key person for adhoc leads and analysis. This position is critical to all aspects of planning and the earnings forecasts, including but not limited to collaborating with all Finance teams to ensure all deliverables are met timely, provides consistency and quality control for several CFO/SET/BOD documents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directs the SAP cost planning process coordinating with all finance areas for the upcoming year's budget. In addition to managing the calendar and assuring all critical deadlines are met, collaborates with HR and Treasury on fringe benefits and pension forecast. Assures cost plan is aligned with Long range plan and provides documentation to Auditing annually.
  • Leads the monthly earnings/cash highlights process for CFO and Senior Executive Team (SET) meetings, coordinating with all finance areas, as well as assuring all assumptions reflect latest information, QC of documents and further analysis as needed to support results. Calculates MICP/PIP impacts for each operating areas as financial and scorecard results change during course of the year. Additionally, is lead for the Workiva system maintaining for earnings/cash forecast processes and identifying opportunities to implement in other areas of Finance.
  • Crititcal role in long range planning process leading the development of presentations for CFO and CEO to the SET and Board for multiple updates during the year. Providing in depth financial analysis, including and not limited to drivers of plan to plan changes for income and cash, credit metrics and other key financial metrics, PSEG stock valuation and peer analysis, and short term and long term volatilites to plan with tornado charts (applying appropriate risk adjustments)
  • Provides support to Treasury and Investor Relations as needed for presentations and back up materials.
  • Represents Corporate Planning for all regulatory filings interrogatories that are required from an Enterprise perspective.
  • Lead for Enterprise entitlement review of all users for capital projects.
  • Leads / supports ad-hoc projects and analyses as appropriate (e.g., lead for Finance for BPU Management Audit discovery process).


Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
  • 10 years experience in Finance, Accounting or relevant Business experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, thorough understanding of financial statements with understanding of accounting and tax accounting.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership attributes and be able to manage resources inside and outside the department.
  • Coordinates closely with resources outside the department to integrate data on complex issues to achieve deliverables.
  • Financial modeling experience, demonstrated proficiency with financial theory and accounting.
  • Possess strong business skills with knowledge of planning processes and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Mastery/Advanced skills: Excel, Powerpoint, SAP
  • Proven strong leadership, facilitation, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, with ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of leadership.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial results and make decisions using sound judgment with limited information.
  • Demonstrated high level of problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to assess business controls, risks and opportunities.
  • As a leader, has the ability to accept personal accountability for actions and results, strive for personal and departmental improvement.
