As General Manager of Greenhouse Operations, you will oversee and be responsible for the complete operation of our new indoor robotic hydroponic farm in Lockhart, TX. Youll join Iron Ox at a critical point in our growth trajectory and will be responsible for end-to-end operations including greenhouse operations, production scheduling, maintenance scheduling, team, and people development, health & safety, food safety & quality, and cost control. To achieve this, the General Manager of Greenhouse Operations will be an analytical problem solver who is able to set big bold goals, interpret data, deliver business results, with strong leadership skills. You will operate in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers, computer scientists, agricultural scientists, sales and business development, and finance. + This will be a hands-on role where you will be leading high-volume packaging and shipping of high-quality produce to local retailers and distributors.

+ Coordinate equipment uptime, processing tools, training, and resource balancing to meet daily packaging and shipment schedules

+ Define and continuously improve our greenhouse operations playbook

+ Recruit, train, and grow a world-class greenhouse operations team including ongoing development, detailed job definitions, and career paths

+ Ensure effective regulatory and EH&S compliance.

+ Develop and manage deep partnerships with functions across Iron Ox

+ Establish and maintain a food-safe environment and processes, including daily cleaning with staff and farm associates

+ Conduct and plan for multiple shifts as required to meet production resource planning

+ Implement strict budgetary controls

+ Collect and analyze data to proactively identify production issues or develop plans to resolve existing issues

+ Responsible for creating and promoting a culture that values continuous improvement and performance centered around people, food safety, and customer experience

+ Ensure employees have the right tools, knowledge, and equipment required to do their jobs effectively and safely.

+ 10+ years of management experience in manufacturing, food production, food processing, or other related fields.

+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated experience implementing process improvement techniques and driving continuous improvement initiatives and culture

+ Experience managing an OSHA compliance program

+ Knowledge of warehouse management systems

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and management skills

+ Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise

+ Ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers

+ Experience with inventory management, warehouse operations, customer shipments, product quality, on-time deliveries, and attention to cleanliness

+ Understanding of food safety processes, tools, cleaning techniques, worker clothing, and behavior to meet and exceed food safety requirements for production environments

+ Interest in the farming, food, and robotics industries and love the fun of the startup environment and its culture.

+ Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize the impact.
