Job Title
Material Production Technician I
Responsible for analyzing materials (Raw materials, Finished materials and In process inspection) utilizing analytical equipment in the production of high quality ceramic powders.
* Communicates technical issues, process and material deviations and equipment challenges in a timely manner to all pertinent personnel (operator, technicians, engineering and/or management team members)
* Acts as a quality control gatekeeper to assure all processes are properly followed and materials are manufactured to defined requirements.
* Assists in analyzing/troubleshooting systems, processes, product or equipment against the desired results.
* Proficient in utilizing manufacturing computer to accurately gather and maintain specified records of technical data.
* Displays basic understanding of Statistical Process Control. Including but not limited to control charts, data entry, error proofing.
* Performs shrinkage/characterization testing or in-process testing (i.e. moisture, slip density, viscosity, particle size, surface area).
* Support engineering to resolve technical issues.
* Continuously identifies and suggests process improvements pertaining to safety, quality, efficiency, and costs.
* May set up production machines and test equipment.
* Utilizes basic math skills to calculate values including but not limited to averages, volumes, weights, densities
* Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned.
* May work any and all shifts/days as required, including weekend coverage as needed.
Job Requirements:
Education:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year experience in lab experience or demonstrated ability.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Intermediate language and math skills.
* Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
