**Purpose:**

Administers nursing care for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, or supervising clinical manager, by performing the following duties

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**

* Maintains patient confidentiality

* Performs telephone triage as needed

* Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician

* Schedules, coordinates and reschedules all patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)

* Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention

* Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely

* Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians

* Uses computer system efficiently and accurately

* Provides patient/staff education

* Oversees LPN's and MA's

* Review Pre-op and Post-op instructions with patients

* Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office, including but not limited to:

+ IV therapy

+ Breast biopsies

+ I&Ds

+ Anoscopies

+ Hemorrhoidal banding and wound care

* Performs other duties and projects as assigned

**Required Experience**

**Required**:

* North Carolina or Compact RN license

* Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Preferred:

* Surgery experience within a clinic or doctor's office

* Experience with general and breast surgery patients
